Call for Papers: International Review of the Red Cross - Gender

Permalink 06 July 09    Inside Justice ®   Renee Dopplick    Tags: call for papers, journals     Last updated: 06 July 09
The International Review of the Red Cross invites articles on "Gender" for its upcoming thematic issue in March 2010. Gender inequality reflects power imbalances in social structures that exist in pre-conflict periods and that are exacerbated by armed conflict and its aftermath. What's more, armed conflicts negatively affect both women and men and result in gender-specific disadvantages. To this end, gender issues are attracting more attention and are increasingly taken into account in post-conflict programs. Gender-related disadvantages need to be recognised and addressed by conflict and reconstruction processes.

  • Woman as humanitarian actors (humanitarian)

Climate Finance: Regulatory and Funding Strategies for Climate Change and Global Development
This collection of 36 policy essays provides new proposals for financial, regulatory, and governance mechanisms, including how to create a comprehensive approach through greater public funds, private investment though carbon markets, and structured incentives for developing country innovations. It suggests that national and global regulation of cap-and-trade and offset markets will be required. Essays also address forest and energy policy, international development funding, international trade law, and coordinated tax policy.
